Hi there. I wish I was able to email you, but unfortunately the only way to contact you (apparently) is through public means.
Some back ground. I left the Anglican Church in 2000 after I decided it was no longer relevant. It seems to me that the two sides of the Anglican communion either spend their time beating up on gays or being void of any tangible belief system whatsoever.
Now I'm as liberal as they come. My fiancee is a Buddhist, we're non-celibate, and I think social justice actually IS important.
However, last time I went to an Anglican church, the priest couched his entire sermon in obfuscations and slogans that could really mean anything. When I asked him what the hell he was talking about, his response was, "Well, what do you think I was saying?" I'm a marketer. I can spot bullshit when I see it, and I knew there was no sense inquiring further.
Now, it's been 9 years since I've had communion. Lately, I've been feeling the need. However, I'd like to find a community of faith that actually has a... faith.
So, I've read your blog. You seem opinionated. You seem to believe in something (although you haven't elucidated anything in great detail -- that's fine. I know the purpose of this blog). Tell me, is there a middle ground? Is there a place in the Anglican community that is committed to social justice but actually has a faith? I ask you this because you strike me as a genuine fellow, and I want to know your honest opinion.
(By the way, I'm from Canada. Hence my predisposition to call the denomination "Anglican".)
